P.G. Wodehouse with Maria Jette

Portrait of the author as a Broadway rhymesmith

Maria Jette: “Have you ever wondered what P.G. Wodehouse was up to before he got around to writing 90+ novels about Jeeves & Wooster and various others? Well, he was busy inventing modern American musical theater with Jerome Kern and Guy Bolton, at the Princess Theater on Broadway! And not just with Kern: the long list of Wodehouse collaborators includes Sigmund Romberg, Jean Schwartz, Ivor Novello and more.”

Maria and Dan have released two CDs of Wodehouse music:

Songs from both CDs have been featured on live broadcasts of A Prairie Home Companion, including a show at Town Hall Theater in New York, just a few blocks up Broadway from where the Princess Theater once stood.
