GREETINGS FROM DAN
Some rainy day activities to ponder as we Minnesotans await summer and battle mildew:
I've added another monthly sing-along to the routine, this one in St. Anthony Park with Ann Reed as co-leader. We'll shift to the third Monday of the month starting July 15. Meantime, the Loring Park sing enters its sixth year with our sing on the third Tuesday of June (the 18th). 7pm at the Rec Center. It's free. And so are the cookies and punch.
I'm spending a lot of time with the Rose Ensemble these days recording a new CD of fantastic turn-of-the-century music from their Toast to Prohibition show and preparing for their big Cabaret fundraiser night on Thursday June 20, which features Rosies singing their favorite non-Rose repertoire. Show tunes and jazz, who knew?
Regina Williams reprises her hit show from last year, Eartha: The Whole Kitt and Kaboodle at the Capri Theater, two shows June 22 and 23.
Glad to be back on the road with writer and monologuist Kevin Kling. We had a great time touring the state for MN Public Radio this spring. Saturday June 29 finds us up in Bayfield WI at the Big Top Chautauqua
Sopranorama: Maria Jette, Molly Sue McDonald and Janis Hardy, returns this summer for the now-traditional show at the Old Log Theater Monday July 1. And if you're looking for a road trip, we're in Molly's hometown of Greenfield Iowa Friday July 5 at the renovated historic Warren Opera House.
