GREETINGS FROM DAN
February 2012

Prudence Johnson and I continue our tour around the state with Tiptoe Through the 60s, our tuneful tribute to that tumultuous decade. With over 40 songs and some 300 images and a bunch of personal stories, it’s been a winning combination the past several months. We’re in Northfield, Watertown-Mayer, New York Mills, Zumbrota and Faribault soon. Hope to see you. 'More Information.

The Thuringer Salonquintett plays light chamber music from turn-of-the-century Germany, and I’ll be joining them Feb. 17-20 on a greater Minnesota tour, along with some players from the St Paul Chamber Orchestra. Yup, something completely different, looking forward to it.

Kevin Kling and I get to put together a show on the theme of travel and take it on the road in March. the Walkin’ Shoes Tour is sponsored by MPR and will stop in Duluth, East Grand Forks and Rochester. We’ll keep an eye out for you.

Looking ahead: My first collaboration with James Sewell Ballet is coming up at the beginning of April, their big success Lover, now with live music from Maria Jette, Bradley Greenwald and myself.

And Steerage Song the music-theater documentary on Ellis Island-era immigration, will get an intimate concert presentation at Saint Joan of Arc Church in Minneapolis on Sunday May 5, in continuing preparation for a longer run in October yet to be announced. Stay tuned.
